Story was a "singleton" ~ the only puppy in the litter. The "story" is that she was born in the car on the way to the emergency veterinary clinic after her mama, Missy, had been in labor for several hours. She's been truckin' ever since!

Story was first owned and handled by then-13-year-old junior handler Jenna Mackey. Jenna and Story started their show career with a bang in 4-H preliminary competition in June 1999. First they won Open Senior in Showmanship, then Master Showman, and the finished up with the second highest overall showmanship award with a 196 out of 200 possible points! Then in obedience, they got first place in the herding group, and the highest obedience score for second year work (equivalent to Novice level in ASCA and AKC), making them Second Year Champion! As if that wasn't enough, they also won for Highest Overall Obedience Score!!
On August 29, 1999, Jenna and Story debuted in AKC obedience, earning Story's first C.D. leg with a third place! Then they went on to win the Novice Junior Handling Class. In September, Story earned her second CD leg. And in November, the Girl Team finished their first title!
Jenna has moved on to other things ~ college! ~ so Story now belongs to Stephanie Mackey, Jenna's mom, and they're training in obedience and agility. In September 2004, they finished Story's ASCA CD and got her first ASCA CDX leg. Although Stephanie and hubby Dennis have been involved in showing Siberian Huskies for years, Story is Stephanie's first performance dog. You go girls!
