Ted was our first Aussie, and he was quite a boy. He was a beautiful and athletic, a wonderful therapy dog, and, for most of his all-too-short life, an outstanding companion. Sadly, Ted developed serious temperament problems ~ he became extremely dog-agressive, especially with bitches, and completely unreliable. Finally he attacked two of his housemates as well as his own 9-week-old female puppy. We made the devastating decision to euthanize him, and he died in my arms. We buried his ashes where he loved to lie, and planted a Gentle Shepherd daylily on his grave. I have carried that lily with me both times we've moved, and I often feel Teddy just beyond the corner of my eye.
